Folders & organisation
The Drive organises your business like a file explorer: folders (customers, job sites, fiscal years) holding documents. Each folder carries its context — linked template, pre-filled variables — inherited in cascade.
Create and file
The New button: folder, sub-folder, document — generated directly in the current folder —, data import. A folder renames inline, moves, duplicates, deletes (with a choice: delete everything or keep documents). The Details panel shows a folder's configuration; an empty folder suggests its starting actions.
The linked template and the cascade
A folder can be linked to a template: every document created inside inherits it. Variables resolve through the folder → parent folders → workspace cascade: set a value at the level closest to usage and it overrides the inheritance. The generation form shows which value is inherited and which is local.
Find a folder or a document
- Breadcrumb: walk back up the hierarchy;
?folder=…in the URL restores a precise folder. - Recently viewed: quick access at the top of the Drive.
- Drive search: filters the current view.
- Global palette (
Ctrl+K/⌘K):doc:searches documents only,client:customer records only. Opening a hit navigates to the folder, opens the document viewer or the studio depending on the type.
