The subscription
Each workspace carries its plan. The workspace Subscription page shows the current plan, this month's usage and the available plans — billing actions are reserved for workspace administrators.

Amounts in USD, taxes excluded. Paid plans also come with annual billing at a discount (−20% on the current grid): the Monthly / Annual selector above the cards recomputes the prices, and automatic renewal follows the chosen cadence — every month, or every year.
Quotas
Every consumption is counted as it happens: an issued document, a mutating API call, an AI generation.

The Free AI allowance is a one-off; paid plans renew theirs every month. Other limits (templates, PDF retention, registries, members) appear on the Subscription page cards. A non-included quota (the API on Free and Starter) returns an explicit error — see the errors reference.
Changing plan
- First subscription (or back from the free plan): the Subscribe button on the plan card → Dodo Payments checkout. Activation goes through the webhook, a few seconds after payment.
- Active paid subscription: the change happens in place, without a new checkout.
- Upgrade: immediate — the remaining time is credited, only the difference is billed (prorated).
- Downgrade: scheduled at period end — nothing is billed today, the current plan stays in place until renewal.
- Monthly ↔ annual switch: immediate and prorated.
A change that is already scheduled is signalled: the next one is refused until it applies at period end.
Cancel and resume
- Cancel: switches off automatic renewal — the plan stays active until the end of the paid period, then the workspace falls back to the Free plan automatically (recreated without any action on your side).
- Switch to the free plan: this is the same cancellation at period end — there is no immediate downgrade.
- Resume subscription: as long as the paid period has not ended, one click restores automatic renewal and cancels the cancellation.
- Scheduled cancellation = changes blocked: during that period, plan-change buttons are disabled and the server refuses the action — resume the subscription first.
Billing
Payment is handled by Dodo Payments; actual plan activation happens through a signed webhook, never through the browser. If activation is slow, the Subscription page refreshes by itself until confirmation.
