The .dokkt format

The .dokkt extension is the template exchange format: export from the library, import into another workspace, local backup.

Archive structure

A .dokkt package is a ZIP archive:

invoice-acme.dokkt
├── manifest.json format, version, created_at, SHA-256 fingerprints
├── template.json name, page settings, numbering, form_layout, tracking dimensions (tracking_config)
├── elements.json template layers
├── schema.json variable schema at export time
└── assets/<sha256>.<ext> embedded images (src "asset:<file>")

Integrity

The manifest is signed with HMAC-SHA256 using the application key: a hand-edited file (payload or manifest) is rejected at import. Reading only trusts declared entries; anything else is ignored, and nothing is extracted to disk (in-memory reading, bounded sizes).

Import a .dokkt

From the explorer: Import → pick the file. The template is created in the workspace with its elements, schema and assets re-stored under fresh names. The embedded tracking_config (the template's tracking dimension assignment) is remapped onto the target workspace's catalogue — by key, otherwise by label; a dimension unknown to the target is ignored. The import counts against the plan's templates quota.

Export a .dokkt

From a template card: actions menu → Export. The file only leaves the workspace through a member (viewer role minimum).
